Description
A full cord of kiln dried firewood is the most wood for your money: 128 cubic feet of stacked hardwood, enough for steady fires through the heating season. It’s $850 in Maryland and $1,062.50 in Northern Virginia, with free delivery.
What you get
- Hardwood only: about 80% oak (white oak and red oak), mixed with maple, hickory and walnut.
- Cut 16 to 20 inches to fit most fireplaces, wood stoves and fire pits.
- Kiln dried to 10–15% moisture on average, so it lights easily and is ready to burn when it arrives.
- A full cord stacks 4 ft high × 4 ft wide × 8 ft long (128 cubic feet).
- Delivered and dumped in your driveway, free, on the date you choose when you order.
Full cord or half cord?
A full cord is twice the wood of a kiln dried half cord ($525 in Maryland) and costs less per cubic foot than buying two half cords. If you burn wood most evenings or heat with a wood stove, a full cord usually makes more sense.
Kiln dried or seasoned?
Kiln dried firewood is dried in a kiln and is ready to burn on arrival. Seasoned firewood is air-dried and is the lower-cost choice: a seasoned full cord from $475. Read our guide, kiln dried vs. seasoned firewood, or compare all firewood sizes and prices.
